strangers ... not at all...
A new place, new people, new city, everything new... and what's more phust budday away from home ever! Well that and my 'i'm growin old' sulkin' had me wondering how this day'd be...
Well... the fact that I'm smiling and typin this, is an indication of what its been alright...
12 pm sharp well not exactly, but a few mins later... the whole setta junta from Bangalore... I mean my colleagues from Mid Day... junta I know just a few days from surprised me with cake, singing and the likes... me made a rather tactless and bland budday speech, but hey! was a looottta fun! :) took pix and all...
Then around 12:45 old man Salil, who shares his budday with me and is 10 yrs older than me, called me to Kala Ghoda, which is 15 mins away from where I lives... I is thrilled... Get there with Kavya, who very mummy-like says I'll join you mainly cuz its this late... hehe :) had a fun time... stayed for 45 mins... junta sang and all here again...
Then phone calls et al ... needless to mention...
Just now back after a 1 hr table session with me future boss.
And the day is just half over...
Here's a happy start to a year ...
and yes... waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! I'm gettin older :'(
live from mumbai
10 days already! Mumbai, new job and new place all seem to be fun...
Much unlike the previous one, this place is soooo different! And damn! I sure do miss Wipro... ! How much I louved the place, I only find out now... The organized corporate envionment versus the you're your own master kinda set up here. Damn, I only realize what a corporate sucker I've become! Unbelievable, the way life can change... I mean, I just don't understand how I took so much time to adjust to a routine like this! (hehe!)
Annnyways I aint cribbing... Exciting the new life promises to be... And (hehe!) little did I expect I could fit in so well into business journalism ... well aint settled yet... but sure shall get there :)
Ah, the blog shall be cut short as woik beckons... More on Mumbai madness... hopefully sooner than later!
PS - All you worried junta smsing / calling me... I wont, I repeat, WONT, eat chicken and eggs ;)
to one of the best persons!
Here's remembering those good ol days!
Anu, you're here forever with us :)
A person who was so artistic, knowledgeable, talented, brilliant, intelligent and yet the most funnest sweetest humorous person! Here's to a wonderful human being! And to all those good memories we've had! :)
hmmm!
If thou must love me, let it be for nought
Except for love's sake only. Do not say
I love her for her smile--her look--her way
Of speaking gently,--for a trick of thought
That falls in well with mine, and certes brought
A sense of ease on such a day--
For these things in themselves, Belovèd, may
Be changed, or change for thee,--and love, so wrought,
May be unwrought so. Neither love me for
Thine own dear pity's wiping my cheek dry,--
A creature might forget to weep, who bore
Thy comfort long, and lose thy love thereby!
But love me for love's sake, that evermore
Thou may'st love on, through love's eternity.
Well what do I say about this poem but way to go woman...
Elizabeth Barret Browning, well she is just a woman much ahead of her times as cliche as it sounds...
She is the woman who dared to venture into the patriarchal area of the Elizabethan/Petrarchan sonnets and did put inher terms of being loved and did she put them well! She is truly an epitome of the eloquent woman...
This woman has said it and has said it in such a way that lyric writers even today talk about loving women in these terms...
Oh just goin' thru old texts of my literature syllabus when i saw my presentation on this poem... hence the blog :)
PS: this is my 100th post! Ironically, the first one was about death and this about love!
